As you know, COVID19 killed our annual summer picnic. However, I'm working with others to put together a similar annual event, most likely in August after the Special Election. In the meantime, I will be headed to Coshocton tomorrow for their annual GOP Corn Roast and Picnic. If you want to attend, the info is below.
Additionally, we still really need volunteers for the Knox County GOP Fair Booth. Tanner Salyers has previously sent out an email with a confidential link to schedule. If you haven't received the email and would like to volunteer, please email Tanner here. One additional item. State Issue One is probably going to be a razor close election. I still have a few yards signs at my office and Tanner will hopefully have some more in soon too. Please stop by my office or email Tanner. Our priority at the County Fair Booth will be promoting State Issue One also. For more info on State Issues One please go to Vote Yes Ohio. Thank you. Scott Pullins P.S. As always, if you would like to financially support my campaign, then please donate online. Thank you in advance! -Molly Smith, PWO board member COLUMBUS, OH — Protect Women Ohio (PWO), a pro-woman, pro-parent, pro-life coalition, is launching a multi-million-dollar ad buy this weekend in support of Issue 1. PWO is investing $2 million in a new 30-second television ad, entitled “Your Promise,” which will run statewide on broadcast, cable and satellite. The buy comes on top of PWO’s $1 million investment in radio and digital ads earlier this week, bringing PWO’s initial ad spend to $3 million. “Right now, Ohio’s constitution has a giant ‘FOR SALE’ sign on it,” said Molly Smith, PWO board member. “Out-of-state special interest groups, like the ACLU, think they can drop into Ohio with their fat pockets and buy their way into our founding document – it’s outrageous, and it must be stopped. By voting ‘yes’ on Issue 1 in August, Ohioans will put much-needed, common-sense protections in place.” By increasing the threshold for passing constitutional amendments from a 50% simple majority to 60%, Issue 1 will protect Ohio’s constitution from out-of-state special interest groups that too often circumvent the legislature and buy their way into the constitution – like the ACLU is doing with its dangerous anti-parent amendment. Such a change will put Ohio in line with most states. Currently, Ohio is one of only 18 states that allows constitutional amendments to be proposed by outside groups. Of those 18 states, half – including red and blue states – have some form of enhanced requirement for amendments to be adopted. Watch “Your Promise” HERE. Ad Text: (Female narrator) You promised you’d keep the bad guys away, protect her. Now’s your chance. Out-of-state special interests that put trans ideology in classrooms and encourage sex changes for kids are hiding behind slick ads. Don’t be fooled. You can keep this madness out of Ohio classrooms and protect your rights as a parent by voting “yes” on August 8. Keep your promise to her. Vote “yes” on August 8. Earlier this week, the hypocrisy of Issue 1 opponents was on full display. Groups like the ACLU of Ohio, the Ohio Democratic Party and Planned Parenthood all require supermajorities to amend their bylaws yet oppose protecting Ohio’s constitution. PWO is calling the ACLU and its allies out for their blatant double standard. Background on the ACLU’s dangerous November anti-parent amendment: This anti-parent amendment is just the latest example of the ACLU’s war on parental rights. Background on the ACLU’s war on parents is available HERE. The ACLU has a long and well-documented history of fighting against parental rights, including in Alaska and Indiana. The ACLU specifically calls out parental involvement on its website, saying it would restrict “teenagers’ access to abortion.” Heritage Action recently released a report and video about the ACLU’s attacks on parental rights in Ohio. In recent weeks, the ACLU has denounced parental notification requirements in schools, and the ACLU of Ohio’s chief lobbyist confirmed that stance on Twitter. A legal analysis of the extreme anti-parent amendment is available HERE from constitutional scholars Carrie Campbell Severino, President of Judicial Crisis Network, and Frank J. Scaturro, a former special counsel to the House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives. ### Protect Women Ohio is a coalition of concerned family and life leaders, parents, health and medical experts, and faith leaders in Ohio dedicated to defeating the ACLU’s extreme anti-parent amendment this November. Several weeks ago I wrote you and said that I was focusing any political time I have between now and August 8 in helping to promote State Issue One. I meant it and I had hoped that the campaign for State Representative could at least wait until house districts were actually drawn and we got past the important August and November elections. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Over six months ago, I asked Amber Keener to meet with me and discuss the race for State Representative before she made a final decision. She agreed to do so at the time. Nonetheless, I learned a few hours ago that Amber has made a formal announcement of her campaign. I had not planned on saying anything. I have known Amber for just over two years and I have supported her campaign for Mount Vernon City Council. I also won't attack another candidate unless provoked. However, I then learned that Amber's "dear friend" and campaign advisor, Tyler Fehrman, was attacking me on social media. Folks, I simply will not allow any attack to go unanswered. Especially from someone of the ilk of Tyler Fehrman. Tyler is from Mount Vernon, OH originally but has since moved to Minnesota. Tyler started out as a Republican, became a Never Trumper, and then finally switched to the Democrat Party. His main claim to fame is that he ratted out many of his former colleagues to the FBI in the First Energy criminal case. I feel sorry for Tyler and I have tried to be polite when he and I crossed paths. But I will not let ridiculous attacks like this go unanswered. Larry and Taundra Householder are dear friends. In fact, they are like family to me. I have known them since the 1990's and I represent them on some personal matters, campaign finance issues, and other related civil issues. I am not a federal criminal attorney but I have helped his defense team whenever I could. As an attorney, I do not have the luxury of telling you what I say or don't say to my clients in private. That is privileged and confidential. I will say this though. I am not an overly ambitious and attention seeking, wannabe, career politician. I remain loyal to my friends and clients when bad things happen to them. If that costs me votes, then it costs me votes. Loyalty and principles actually matter to me. There are now two other Knox County candidates either running or exploring the race. But unlike them, I am not a newcomer to the Republican Party. I voted in my first Republican Primary at 18 years old in 1986. That was 37 years ago. In contrast, public records from the Knox County Board of Elections show that Amber Keener first registered to vote in 2004 and voted in her first Republican Primary in Knox County in 2016 when she was in her 30's. She then voted in the two Republican primaries in 2022. That's it. She failed to vote in Republican primaries in Knox County in 2010, 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2020. I would also urge you to visit her website at amberkeener.com before she changes it. You may notice that two extremely important words are missing; "Conservative" and "Republican". I will never hide my true beliefs and positions on the issues from you. I will never attempt to paint a picture to you of something that is simply not true; whether its in my personal or my professional life. I will never take credit for the hard work that was done by someone else. And I won't run into a meeting just to get a "selfie" and leave. I have never graduated from the Jo Ann Davidson Leadership Institute nor the Pat Tiberi Leadership Institute. I don't have any pictures with former Attorney General Betty Montgomery or Senate candidate Matt Dolan. Why? Because they are all extremely liberal, Never Trump Republicans, that have spent decades attempting to defeat conservative Republican candidates and issues. No thank you. I'm very proud of my nearly forty year long history of involvement with the Republican Party and the conservative movement. I'll never run from it and I'll never hide from it. Thank you. Today I received a threatening letter from attorneys that purportedly represent disgraced, resigned, former Speaker Cliff Rosenberger. In reality, they are likely paid for by an elderly liberal activist named Virginia Ragan. Ms. Ragan is the largest donor to liberal Republicans and some Democrats in Ohio. And she has long held a deep-seated personal and political grudge against me. Let me explain. In 2002, as head of the Ohio Taxpayers Association, I joined in a news conference with representatives of conservative groups that included the Christian Coalition of Ohio, Family First, the Ohio Gun Rights Coalition, and the Pro Family Network. The reason for the news conference was because then RINO Governor Bob Taft had appointed Jo Ann Davidson to his cabinet. We criticized this pick because former Speaker Jo Ann Davidson was pro-abortion, pro-gun control, and supported higher taxes. In short, a Republican in Name Only (RINO). After this news conference Ms. Ragan had me expelled from the board of the United Conservatives of Ohio. She controlled that group then with her checkbook and was close, "personal" friends with Jo Ann Davidson. More recently Ms. Ragan's checkbook funded the effort to elect Cliff Rosenberger Speaker of the Ohio House. He resigned after a series of scandals that included the fact that Ms. Ragan had bought and provided he and Ryan Smith lodging in an expensive downtown Columbus condo. Last year, Ms. Ragan made a whopping $10,000.00 contribution to Allison Russo. Ms. Russo is the pro-abortion, pro-gun control, higher tax loving Democrat Leader of the Ohio House. Additionally, she made a maximum contribution in the amount of $13,704.41 to my opponent in the 2022 Republican Primary for the Ohio House. I will not be bullied by Virginia Ragan or any other liberal major donor who seeks to meddle in Ohio House primaries. That's why I need your help. Please consider making a contribution to my exploratory campaign for the Ohio House by clicking on the online button below. Thank you in advance for any help that you can give. Sincerely, Scott Pullins P.S. In 2022 I was endorsed by and/or highly rated by nearly every grassroots, conservative organization. I'm proud of my approximately 37 year record of conservative Republican leadership! Donate Online |
