Mount Vernon, OH – Longtime conservative Republican leader Scott Pullins of Knox County today applauded passage of the State Budget in the Ohio House of Representatives. Pullins is exploring a second run for the Ohio House after losing to incumbent Darrell Kick by 684 votes in the 2022 GOP primary.  Ohio House Bill 33 provides the following:

-A constitutionally balanced budget that helps everyday Ohioans and invests in our future.
-Flattens the state income tax and provides $1 billion in tax relief.
-Commits over $1 billion in increases to K-12 public education and expands school choice.
-Commits resources to our priorities of growing our economy, protecting our families, and educating our communities.

“Unlike the federal government, we cannot shut down state government, run massive budget deficits, or print more money,” said Scott A. Pullins.  “No state budget is perfect, but this is a great first step in the process.”

“Sadly, Darrell Kick once again let down our district by voting NO on the State Budget,” continued Pullins. “If I had been elected last year, I would have been a YES vote on this budget.”

Scott Pullins is an Ohio attorney, charter school board member, political consultant, and writer. He provides services to small businesses, individuals, financial entities, and political organizations.

Scott Pullins has advised clients on complex legal, business, marketing and public policy issues. He is also the co-founder of the Ohio Taxpayers Association. He is a charter school board member and an elected member of the Knox County Republican Central Committee.  He formerly served as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Knox County Republican Central Committee and as Vice Chairman of the Knox County Republican Executive Committee. Mr. Pullins attended Ohio University and earned his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from The Ohio State University. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School.

Scott Pullins is Exploring a Second Run for the Ohio House

Mount Vernon, OH – Longtime conservative Republican leader Scott Pullins of Knox County has announced that he is exploring a second run for the Ohio House.  In the August 2022 Republican primary he came within just 684 votes from ousting a well-funded, 3-term incumbent.

Pullins is exploring another race at this stage because, like the prior election, state legislative districts are not yet set and could drastically change.  Darrell Kick currently represents Ohio House District 98, which includes most of Knox County, along with all of Coshocton and Holmes Counties.  Kick, however, will not be able to run again because of term limits.  This, in theory, would create an open seat but new districts will have to be drawn again.

“Despite an onslaught of special interest, out of state, dark money spent on Darrell Kick’s behalf, we showed we can compete in this district,” said Scott A. Pullins.  “I’m looking forward to knocking on doors and meeting even more Republicans throughout the district over the next year.”

“I am clearly the most conservative candidate looking at this race,” continued Pullins.  “Unlike others, I have over three decades of work fighting for lower taxes, medical freedom, the second amendment, and for liberty.”
