Mount Vernon, OH – Longtime conservative Republican leader Scott Pullins of Knox County today applauded passage of the State Budget in the Ohio House of Representatives. Pullins is exploring a second run for the Ohio House after losing to incumbent Darrell Kick by 684 votes in the 2022 GOP primary. Ohio House Bill 33 provides the following:
-A constitutionally balanced budget that helps everyday Ohioans and invests in our future.
-Flattens the state income tax and provides $1 billion in tax relief.
-Commits over $1 billion in increases to K-12 public education and expands school choice.
-Commits resources to our priorities of growing our economy, protecting our families, and educating our communities.
“Unlike the federal government, we cannot shut down state government, run massive budget deficits, or print more money,” said Scott A. Pullins. “No state budget is perfect, but this is a great first step in the process.”
“Sadly, Darrell Kick once again let down our district by voting NO on the State Budget,” continued Pullins. “If I had been elected last year, I would have been a YES vote on this budget.”
