Mount Vernon, OH – Longtime conservative Republican leader Scott Pullins of Knox County has filed petitions today to run for the GOP nomination for the Ohio House of Representatives. He will run in the newly redrawn House District 98 which consists of all of Knox County and small parts of Holmes and Morrow County.
“Voters in Ohio House District 98 now have a choice, a more conservative and freedom loving choice,” said Scott Pullins. “The Ohio Republican Party and Columbus politicians want to pick our legislators for us. I say that we let Republican voters decide this race instead.”
The Ohio Republican Party is expected to endorse State Representative Darrell Kick from the 70th House District for House District 98 on Friday. Mr. Pullins has not been permitted to screen or even attend the endorsement meeting on Friday. Additionally, Darrell Kick has never lived in or represented Knox County, but he was narrowly drawn into the district by the Ohio Redistricting Commission.
“My top priority is to restore the Ohio House, the peoples house, as a separate, but EQUAL branch of state government,” continued Pullins. “Too many legislators, including Darrell Kick, have sat on their hands for nearly two years and let Mike DeWine govern Ohio like a liberal Democrat.”
Scott Pullins is an Ohio attorney, charter school board member, political consultant, and writer. Scott Pullins has advised clients on complex legal, business, marketing and public policy issues. He is also the co-founder of the Ohio Taxpayers Association. He is a charter school board member and an elected member of the Knox County Republican Central Committee.
Mr. Pullins attended Ohio University and earned his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from The Ohio State University. He earned his Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School. For further information, please visit www.scottpullins.org .
